Fins are the most important accessory that should not be missing in your mesh bag!
They can be used under any circumstances. It doesn't matter if it's the beginning of the season or a few days before the race, in the main series or at the swim-out.
By using fins you increase overall leg strength and endurance. In fact, the fins create far more resistance than the limb itself. With a larger footprint, more force must be exerted, which is ideal for increasing overall leg strength and endurance. Fins also help to improve ankle flexibility, which is the alpha and omega for swimmers.
This time I put the Speedo Training Fin to the test. Beautiful fins at first glance, they stand out thanks to their blue and orange design, but mostly thanks to their great features.
When buying fins, the main factor is the stiffness of the fins, or rather the stiffness of the material from which they are made. The harder fins, the faster you will be. On a scale of hardness, the Speedo Training Fin would fall at a level 5, with 10 being the hardest.
They are suitable for both beginners and experienced swimmers looking for softer fins. You can get a good workout with these fins, but at the same time, they are not extra stiff, which I liked a lot. And if you are just a beginner I would definitely recommend softer or medium stiffness fins.
Speedo fins have a closed heel. And even though I was sceptical about closed heel fins at first, the Training Fin completely exceeded my expectations. They're really comfortable and you can swim longer series with them without your legs hurting. What's more, even during long series and strong kicks, the fins didn't pop out on my feet.
I recommend the fins to everyone! If only for the fact that it's just plain fun to swim much faster than without them. They will help you in many ways and I'm sure you will love them as much as I do.
If you're thinking about buying fins and are groping for size, I would personally recommend buying a size smaller.
