Although I'm not a big fan of winter swimming, I was more than looking forward to reviewing the neoprene cap. I ended up trying this cap not only on my but also on my dad's head. He's actually the one who loves open-water swimming.
The Hiko neoprene cap fits beautifully on my head and doesn't press anywhere. It also comes in 2 sizes, so while I reached for the S/M size, my dad could have chosen the larger one in the L/XL size. If you know you'll only be using the cap as an insulating layer and won't be submerging your head, it will be enough on its own. However, if you're submerging your head in cold water as I do, I would recommend putting a thin silicone cap over it as an insulating layer against the water.
It's made of soft neoprene, has a thin elastic band around the perimeter and comes in a neutral black colour.
The only small downside is there are only 2 sizes. However, we were completely satisfied with it.
Neoprene material. It provides effective protection against cold water.
